Innovation Portal provides a growth-focused space and community for entrepreneurs, innovators, and creatives to work and connect. In addition to amazing workspace, we provide targeted programming to encourage successful launch, development, and scaling of local ventures.
We are building a diverse, inclusive, and dynamic startup ecosystem and value our strategic partnerships with community organizations and leaders. We design services, programs, and activities to build community and support founders and their successful advancement through the startup lifecycle.
We’re a small, impact-driven team hell-bent on cultivating economic development, diversity, and health in our region.

Executive Director
Todd Greer
With two decades of on-the-ground work in a wide variety of organizations, Todd Greer comes to Innovation Portal with a background as an experienced startup advisor, community builder, facilitator, capacity building guide, and leadership development consultant. Prior to serving as the Executive Director of Innovation Portal, Greer previously served in multiple capacities at the University of Mobile, first as Dean of the School of Business, then Vice Provost, and finally as Vice President for Academic Affairs. Todd holds a Ph.D. in organizational leadership with a major in human resource development from Regent University. He has served as a board member and instructor for many Mobile-area organizations including the Minority Business Accelerator, I-Corps, the Mobile Area Chamber of Commerce’s Young Entrepreneurs Academy, the United Way of Southwest Alabama, and Mobile United and currently serves on the boards of Innovation PortAL, Real Advice Mentoring Program (RAMP), Springboard to Success Inc., and ForMidtown. He is an advisor to many local nonprofits and startups. Besides love for hometown sports teams in Southeast Michigan, Todd is deeply passionate about growing entrepreneurial leaders and increasing the capacity of local nonprofit organizations.
